Guerlain Precious Light Rejuvenating Illuminator

by HelluvaGirl

I must confess, this is the first concealer I’ve ever tried in my life. Somehow, I’d manage with buildable foundations and beauty sleep; now that the latter’s become my utopian past and the former’s just not enough any more, I bought Guerlain Precious Light Rejuvenating Illuminator. As I have no other product in my experience to compare with, I’ll just tell you the impression I’ve got while using this one.

In the first place, I tried the product before reading all the stuff about it being with gold particles, yadda yadda. I definitely am a slave of the industry but all this recent golden marketing seems a bit funny to me 🙂 Non? Same as creams with black caviar. Gimmie a break.

Not sure if it’s gold or the Illuminator simply does what it’s supposed to do, but it really gives a fresh highlight to the complexion – and it’s just now that I notice how foundation-only covered faces look flat. The Illuminator provides the effect of structure – it very much surprised me in a positive way. Like, where’ve I been all this time 🙂

The coverage is medium – by this, I mean that I have to apply the Illuminator on top of my foundation and Terracotta if I want it to stay on. The other thing is, I don’t know how other concealers work, but if you expect to have a four-hour party and still be, erm, concealed, it’s not happening. You’ll definitely have to carry this luxuriously packed thingie in your bag for a regular touchup.

Here’s the example of how it looks in daylight.

Am I happy with it? I look revived, fresh and rested. Would I purchase it again? No. I’d go for some other product – mainly because I expect to find better duration. Besides, with the industry filled with millions of amazing products, who doesn’t want to experiment?.. 🙂
