Semi-Formal Job Interview
by HelluvaGirl
I had a job interview planned for today and the options my wardrobe had to offer were mainly sweaters and tees, distressed jeans and funny stockings (a year of pregnancy, a year of home cooking and stroller walks). Therefore, I went and got this pale powder-pink blouse several days ago. I really love the accentuated shoulders and the way material falls.
The image to go for was not too formal. I wasn’t applying for a programmer’s job either (you guys do perfectly fine with good old jeans and even older sweaters, don’t you? Haha :P). Smart casual I’d say.
Nevertheless, jeans were Augustas’ idea. When he saw me in the process (I hate to hear remarks on my looks until I’m not finished closet-storming), i. e. the said blouse and classic black wide-legged trousers, he pointed out I wasn’t applying for a position at a bank – and he was right. I generally don’t approve of jeans to a job interview but this time I thought it might work – sorry, not discussing the job until I’m there 🙂
See the result:
Also wearing Atmosphere vest, Levi’s, white-ish bone necklace I got in the old town of Warsaw, Les Tropeziennes heels and Zara satchel.
P. S. Would you wear jeans on such occasion?

Big no no! I would say strictly no jeans for a job interview. dress, trousers, city shorts or anything like that, but no jeans…
Exactly – “the way material falls” 🙂
Hm… while I do like the look in general. I have a sweet spot for Blouse+vest+jeans combinations 😉 But the sphere I am in career-wise wouldnt allow me such a dress code nor for the interview, neither as office wear. That probably makes me a little biased.
But you did mention it’s a semi-formal one.. So that might actually work. The main thing is to leave an impression and stand out, isnt it? 😉
Best of luck!
No to jeans! 🙂 Even if it still depends on the job, its better to be over dressed 🙂
Hm. I’d say it’s absolutely appropriate. It’s just like Kristina said – smart casual image. Don’t see anything bad in wearing jeans, it’s better than over dressed I think. But as Sylvie said…” the main thing is to leave an impression”.
You go girl 😉
