Flashback

This was going to be one of her favourite moments.

When she was looking at him and he could read her mind, she covered her face with her hands, giggling “I feel like an idiot…” and he embraced her thighs, sat her on his lap and held her in his arms for a long long time, saving her from the shame of wearing her heart on the sleeve.

She didn’t tell him but there were more.

When they couldn’t stop talking throughout the night before he left in the morning.

And also that he left. She liked it because she was half a man and probably a fatal loner.

But the most favourite part of all was that not for a single moment, not for the whole day and night and the next day did she remember Soulmate, not before the sun went down.
